History
I graduated with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 2002 from the University of Central Florida. During my ten years of teaching experience, I have taught second and third grade, middle school reading, and have been in the role of literacy coach, tutor, and curriculum coordinator. Throughout this time, I have also earned an endorsement in reading and certification in English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Middle Grades Integrated. In 2006, I was named teacher of the year at Imagine PM Wells Charter School which was great honor. This year, I successfully completed my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education.

Philosophy
Every child can learn and meet his or her potential.
I believe that learning is a continual and cyclical endeavor whether it be as a child or as an adult. I also believe that each child is an individual with a variety of strengths, needs, and interests. As an educator, I view my role as a facilitator that guides my students through self-evaluation, goal setting, and planning to meet realistic goals. Throughout this process, engaging activities that build on students' strengths and interests are created and implemented to ensure an optimal learning experience.
